Blue skies burning through.

TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For Today- 9/20: High clouds will linger in the lower valleys early but look for these to burn off pretty quickly with mostly sunny skies on tap by noon. Look for temperatures to be cooler today so have some layers but the southern stream of moisture slides off to the east with high pressure returning for the extended forecast.

Temperatures: Overnight lows stayed on the warmer side with the clouds with CB dropping to 39 and 47 for Gunnison. Highs will stay cool topping out at 66 for CB and 71 for Gunni. Lows tonight will plummet as skies clear straddling 30 with all elevations likely below freezing.

Outlook: The pattern will pivot around to the west and northwest for the weekend with western high pressure feeding us clear but cooler conditions. Temperatures will drop a few degrees back to seasonal norms and drier air will allow for cold clear nights worth preparing for. We will see some scattered cloud cover through the afternoons but the northern jet stays to the north and we are left in the drier slot into next week.
