TV10 Crested Butte and Gunnison Valley Daily Weather Update- For Today- 1/21: As expected, this was a dynamics driven storm and we ended up just outside of the sweet spot for the meeting systems. The good news is that it was a right side up storm with wetter heavier snow to start and light snow on that so it will ride like a lot more. Regional radar shows some moisture wrapping back from the northeast through GJ that will move over our area and we could squeeze out another 1 to 2 before we clear this afternoon. Have layers for when the sun makes it through but the colder air is on us.
Temperatures: Overnight lows were warm for Gunnison at 23 with Crested Butte showing the arrival of the colder air dropping to 15 this morning. Highs will stay cold with CB reaching just 20 and Gunni will stay where it is at 25 and could drop through the afternoon. Lows tonight will drop below 0 for all elevations as skies clear.
Outlook: Weak waves move through the west on a more northwestern flow. Models have continued to back off any snow for our area until Thursday but expect areas of high cloud cover and gusting winds as these weak waves move through with cold nights and daytime highs back to seasonal norms.
