JOE STOKES – HEAD JUDGE
One of the most experienced judges on The North Face Masters panel, Joe Stokes has judged for over six years at competitions such as the North American Freeride Championships, The Red Dawn Shop Battle and The North Face Masters at Snowbird, Utah. Before becoming a judge, the Truckee, California, resident dominated as a rider at the NAFC at Kirkwood, California, placing top-10 in 1999 and 2000 and winning the event in 2001 and 2002. Looking forward, Stokes hopes to be an instrumental force in the growth of competitive big mountain snowboarding.

JULIE ZELL- JUDGE
Julie Zell has spent the better part of her life immersed in snowboarding, along the way becoming one of the most respected female big mountain snowboarders in the history of the sport. Zell holds several titles including three-time winner of the King of the Hill. She has successfully executed several first descents in Alaska's Chugach Mountains as documented in Teton Gravity Research films. The mother of a three-year-old boy, Zell now coaches a women's-only snowboarding camp in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. She has been judging big mountain snowboarding events all over the world for over 10 years and her variety of experience makes Zell the perfect choice for The North Face Masters judging panel.
SHAWN FARMER - JUDGE
Snowboarding veteran Shawn Farmer, also known as O.B. (Original Boarder) or "Fizz," has been involved in the snowboard industry for decades. In his own words, Farmer started riding, "back when the gear sucked…rubber bindings and no edges. Boards had to be self-taped!" Winning Squaw Valley, California's All Mountain Extremes, starring in cult snowboarding movies such as The First Descent, TB1, Cristal Condition, and Guatemalan Persuader, Farmer is an inspiration for generations of big mountain snowboarders. Farmer, who is an experienced and qualified judge of many different snowboarding disciplines, says he's excited to see what the new generation of big mountain snowboarders will bring to the final stop of The North Face Masters in Alyeska, Alaska.
